about

***DISCLAIMER: This is NOT an anti-cop punk rock track or intended to glorify police or former officer and serial killer Chris Dorner. It's a social commentary on a horrible tragedy that was the result of mental illness and DID NOT NEED TO OCCUR.***

What I did during my set was destroy a bunch of contact mic'ed stuff while I had an industrial drumblast on loop and the audio of the police radio from Dorner's stand-off with police (in February 2013) playing. The theme of this was the emotional and mental turmoil that went on in officer Dorner's head and how mental illness and its maltreatment can exacerbate a situation. It led to the deaths of innocent people and, as the audio and transcripts of the stand-off show (available for all to download on archive.org), the denial of due process. I believe that this was the result of fear, overreaction, institutional racism, and police corruption. The last of those has not been legally proven, but there's a lot of circumstantial evidence for it.

My prayers go out to all of the victims and their families and friends. May their souls rest in peaceful, all-loving, forgiving arms of Jesus and may He comfort and protect everyone else affected by it.
